Are you an art nut? You know, one of those people who would actually invest thousands or millions into a mere painting or sculpture? Okay, if you just busted out laughing when you read that, then you're probably not an art addict. In fact, you could probably care less what some one-eared guy concocted hundreds of years ago. What kind of moron would cut off his ear anyway? I will let you in on a little secret.

Many of the "artistically inclined" eccentric ones are not all there. Not by a long shot. For all we know the guy cut off his ear because he thought it would stop the voices. That didn't work, so he then painted himself as a woman. Okay, I might be mixing these prodigies up. Anyway, the moral of the story is if you love art, then indulge away. Heck, you can even check out contemporary online art galleries.

I was in a home once that was literally loaded with fine art. We're talking phenomenal sculptures and immaculate paintings galore. I spoke with the owner, an acquaintance of mine, regarding the arts value. He said it had no value. Or maybe he said it was invaluable. Oh well, it was one or the other. The truth is you couldn't pay me to haul it to the dump. My idea of art is quite different than your typical collector. I don't need online art galleries to show me what's hot or contemporary. I get all the art shows I can handle in the privacy of my own home. You name it, my daughter makes it. Hand crafted Play Dough farm animals, incomparable water colors on newspaper and Popsicle homes crafted for plastic dolls the size of my pinky finger. It all sets my soul a blaze. Okay, so maybe it doesn't quite induce that effect, but it does make me smile. And what more can you ask for than that?

Go ahead and pop open Google.com if you're in search of modern-day online art galleries. Or you could simply venture out to your local galleries or museums in order to witness "brilliant works" the way they were meant to be appreciated. As for me, I believe I will stick with the more personal side of artwork. The kind that comes from those you know and adore. Art like this can never be matched by so-called geniuses. Your heart and soul won't allow it. Especially if the "geniuses" are removing their body parts. That's not profound; it's just weird.
